Who We Are

Brevard Academy: A Challenge Foundation Academy is a public charter school, charges no tuition, and is open to any child eligible for the public school systems of North Carolina and the immediately adjacent areas of South Carolina. BA-CFA is characterized by small classes and an excellent music and art program. Physical activity plays an important role and incorporates outdoor education knowledge and skills that will serve students well throughout their lifetimes.

Brevard Academy: A Challenge Foundation Academy students live by an Honor Code that promotes consideration, integrity, positive spirit, and value of the individual. The curriculum develops enthusiasm for investigative learning, encourages students to produce original ideas, think creatively, and solve problems effectively. As a partnership between teachers, students, and parents, the school is dedicated to the development of the whole child and to the enhancement of the values of respect and responsibility.

Mission

The Mission of Brevard Academy is to prepare its students to achieve academic excellence through the Core Knowledge Sequence. Through a partnership involving students, teachers, and parents the school strives to create citizens with strong moral character and active intellectual inquiry.

Vision

Brevard Academy: A Challenge Foundation Academy (BA-CFA) a K-8 public charter school develops and encourages motivated, intellectually curious students who are skilled in critical thinking, individual expression and problem solving. From their diverse backgrounds, students accept our challenge to pursue personal and academic excellence. Through this pursuit, they become confident members of their community who lead by serving others.

School Improvement Plan

Brevard Academy has a team of dedicated staff members who meet regularly to review policies, procedures, upcoming events, safety measures, goals and all other aspects of the schools daily operations. The School Improvement Team has utilized an online platform, called Indistar, in which core functions of the school are identified and effective practice measures needed to improve upon the functions are laid out.
