Carly Hendrix
I began my teaching career at Brevard Academy in 2012 and I am not exaggerating when I say it is my dream school to teach at. I sincerely hope it will be your dream school as parents and students as well. Our content rich, Core Knowledge curriculum is challenging and allows for the students to develop a firm grasp on how to be a good, global citizen. We have high expectations of our students which also demands high expectations of ourselves and our school.
I graduated Brevard College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Studies & Elementary Education and held onto hope of getting a teaching job in the area until 2012 when this opportunity presented itself to me. I have been in Brevard since 2005 and absolutely love this area as a teacher and as a mom. My two children (Cash and Boone) enjoy our wonderful community and all the people in it. I believe that it does take a village to raise a child, and hope we can work together to give our children all the love, support, and structure they need to thrive in school and eventually in our global community.
My mission as a teacher is to give my students the tools they need in order to be successful learners, kind humans, and exemplary citizens in our great world. I promote good manners, proper speech and grammar, and creative thinking. I am a huge advocate for the Arts and incorporate them into my life and my classroom as much as possible. I love doing crafts at home and if I’m being honest, I would paint the entire world with chalkboard paint if I could! I love making things and am excited to do a lot of fun activities with the students this year.
As a family, I want parents and students to feel comfortable and happy in my classroom. If parents feel at ease, their children are more likely to feel at ease, and they will be more open to learning and growing as an individual. Always feel free to come to me with any questions or concerns as I would not want anything to hinder the education and advancement of my students or our family.
