I am the 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher. I started at Brevard Academy in 2015 after graduating from Appalachian State University. As the social studies teacher, I strive to foster cultural awareness, critical thinking, and a love for learning in my students. My inquiry-based approach encourages students to ask questions, explore diverse perspectives, and engage deeply with history to develop a meaningful understanding of the world. I believe in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and inspired to grow both academically and personally. By connecting historical context to contemporary issues, I aim to empower students to become informed, empathetic, and active global citizens.
When not at school, I am on my mountain bike, hiking with my husband and dogs, camping, reading a mystery, or in my greenhouse.
